Our goal: »CO2-neutral by 2030«

As one of 25 companies so far, HUNTER has joined the regional climate initiative of the Lippe and East Westphalia Chambers of Industry and Commerce. The ambitious goal: to operate climate-neutrally at the entire Bielefeld site by 2030, taking into account Scopes 1 to 3.

In addition to the two-storey administration building, the company premises, which were occupied in 2016, include the company's own leather manufacturing facility covering more than 2000 m² and the HUNTER shop covering around 700 m². As an employer for around 160 employees, HUNTER is a medium-sized company that has stood for an unsurpassed range of goods for over 40 years and is aware of its high responsibility for the environment.

Recently, committed employees from all areas of the company set up an internal working group that focuses on the topic of climate protection and drives the company's development forward in a structured manner from a sustainability perspective.
The climate initiative of the Chambers of Industry and Commerce was the ideal umbrella for a wide range of projects and optimisation efforts. In order to achieve climate neutrality, the main focus will be on measures to increase energy and resource efficiency as well as on a climate-neutral energy supply. Ideally, compensation measures should not (no longer) be necessary by 2030, according to the initiators of »Gemeinsam klimaneutral 2030« (»Together Climate Neutral 2030«).
