HUNTER counts on green electricity and e-mobility
The economical use of valuable resources such as electricity, water and materials such as leather has always been a matter of course for HUNTER. Even during the construction of the new company headquarters in Bielefeld a few years ago, structural aspects such as cooling ceilings for a pleasant indoor climate in summer and motion sensors for all lighting were taken into account. Energy is saved wherever it makes sense and is possible.
On the roof of the three-storey, modern administration building, there is also a photovoltaic system that covers part of the electricity demand and whose yield is used 100% itself. The additional electricity required for the approximately 24,000 m² property with its own production hall and spacious shop & factory outlet will be certified green electricity from 1 January 2022.
»With the decision to obtain 100% of the electricity required for the HUNTER Group from renewable energy sources, we are living up to our immense responsibility as an internationally successful company and taking another big step towards our goal: to operate in a 100% climate-neutral manner,« says Nadine Trautwein, Managing Director at HUNTER since 2007.
At the end of 2021, the company's vehicle fleet was already partially converted to e-mobility. The new electric cars are already regularly used by employees, especially for short trips in the vicinity, and can be recharged directly in front of the building at appropriate stations.
HUNTER also promotes sustainable mobility for its employees. Thanks to the convenient location, the workplace is easily accessible by bus and train for the approximately 160 employees. A more active way to get to work is by e-bike, for which attractive leasing conditions are available from a well-known local partner.
